MILWAUKEE, WI — The day that Yankee fans have waited for has finale come. OF Spencer Jones will make his long-awaited MLB debut tonight against the Brewers. He will bat sixth and be the team's designated hitter.
Yankees first baseman Ben Rice makes his return to the lineup. He was removed from Sunday's game after being hit on the hand on a pickoff attempt by Max Fried. There was some swelling, but the Yankees remained consistent that the injury was not an IL situation.
With the option of Brandon Beck to AAA last night after his relief outing against the Rangers, the Yankees called up RHP Kervin Castro, who will slot into the bullpen. Castro in AAA this season posted a 1-0 record with a 3.14 ERA in 14.1 innings this season.
In his career at American Family Field (24 at-bats), Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge has a .500 batting average with four home runs and nine RBI's. With the way he's been swinging the bat, look for him to have a big series.
On the mound for the Yankees in their ace, LHP Max Fried. Fried did not have his best outing last time out against the Orioles, though this season in three starts he's had some struggles at Yankee Stadium. Away from the Bronx, he has an ERA under one.
For the Brewers, with will be flamethrower Jacob Misiorowski. Nicknamed "The Miz", he has a strikeout rate above 30%. In four games started at home, his ERA is higher (3.22) than on the road, which includes four home runs surrendered, so the Yankees get a bit of an advantage with their A lineup going out.
